It is related to a more general concept called mediated reality in which a view of reality is modified (possibly even diminished rather than augmented) by a computer. The technologies which provide AR experiences are often categorized as mobile computing, location-based services, gesture recognition and wearable computing.

Mixed Reality (MR).

Mixed Reality (MR) is a term used to refer to either one of the following:

• A type of virtual reality technology that seamlessly integrates computer-generated graphics with real life elements in real time.

• The merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. Also known as hybrid reality. This may be augmented reality or virtual reality.

Some people may also experience headaches when using the headset or getting motion sick when too much movement is involved.

The biggest problem with VR is that there are not enough areas for people to use the technology, since it currently only exists in arcades. However, this could be solved by using VR headsets that can also act as phones or tablets. This way the person can play the game on their phone then place it into the headset to continue playing.
