Director Michael Bay recently announced that despite all the new information “supposedly” leaking about the upcoming sequel to the Hollywood blockbuster Transformers, all of it is false. Bay claims that whatever information was leaked was actually fabricated by Hollywood producers in order to to “confuse” fans. By doing so, the credibility of “true leaks” would be much harder to distinguish. In the end, no one would really have any true knowledge about the upcoming film.
One could see this marketing strategy as ingenious. It holds a resemblance to the anti-piracy move record labels have made. By flooding the web with fake mp3’s of upcoming albums, not only do they keep the threat of piracy at bay, they also add more hype prior to the album’s release date by making harder for the public to catch (or hear) a glimpse.
However true or not, current rumors regarding Transformers 2 are still tickling the fancies of fans everywhere. One website suggests that the Dinobots and the Insecticons are making an appearance together with other new and unique transformers. Australian actress Teresa Palmer may “possibly land a role” in the upcoming sequel. And lastly, talks concerning film locations point to places such as Bethlehem, Sedona, “The Boneyard,” and Philadelphia (which is the only official location Michael Bay has announced himself to be true).
