Fans of the punk band Blink 182 were biting their nails when news came out that he was in a plane crash. Chris Baker, Barker’s assistant, wanted to go home so that he could be by his wife when she gives birth. Being a good friend that he is, Barker then offered a ride on a private Learjet as it is the fastest way home. Tragically, the crash killed four people including Chris Baker.
There were only two survivors, DJ AM and Travis Barker. Both were severely injured but are currently in stable condition. Both are currently being treated for second and third degree burns. The good news is that full recovery is expected, it’s just that the recovery could take a year.
Through the many years of Travis Barker’s successful career, people have seen how he handled injuries. A broken leg did not stop him from playing the drums. He also had to play with one arm during a Blink 182 tour. Who could have imagined that a drummer can play punk without using all four limbs? Injuries did not stop him from being the great drummer that he is. We hope that after his recovery, he could still astound audiences with his incredible drumming.
Travis proves that determination is needed to be a successful musician.
