Each year since 2004, around 14 aspirants are enslaved with business-related challenges in Donald Trump’s The Apprentice. A position in one of Trump’s companies is opened for the contender who does not get fired by the end of the season. The one which Trump hires can expect a hefty year’s salary.
This season is unique from the previous years because the ones who were pushed around and fatigued by the show’s tasks already have a big fortune. This year featured the first Celebrity Apprentice, and the winner would not have to work for Trump, but instead earn over a million dollars to be donated to the charity of his/her choice. They were expected to use their status and connections to accomplish the tasks and raise the needed funs for charity.
The thought of a Celebrity Apprentice is thrilling; to see the rich and famous do arduous tasks. But of course, you can’t expect the show to have the top Hollywood stars. The contestants are mostly athletes, musicians, models and actors. Among the fired celebrities were Carol Alt, Stephen Baldwin, Nadia Comaneci, Tiffany Fallon, Jennie Finch, Nely Galan, Marilu Henner, Lennox Lewis, Omarosa, Tito Ortiz, and Gene Simmons. Vincent Pastor resigned. The last to be fired was finalist Trace Adkins, leaving the title to Piers Morgan as the Celebrity Apprentice.
With Piers Morgan as the winner, the prize money would go to his charity - the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. This Fund is focused on giving millions of dollars to the families of those whose lives were taken in the war. This is personally important for Morgan since his brother and brother-in-law were both sent to the Middle East.
Another Celebrity Apprentice can be expected in the following seasons, which is a good idea since reality TV earns millions of dollars from its middle-class viewers and fans. It is quite nice of them to give a minute portion of their profit to charity.
