There’s more to Mel Gibson. Over the years he’s become a Hollywood icon, an acclaimed director, Oscar award winner, Jesus Christ advocate, and a drunken antisemitic road warrior. However, there’s another side of Mel that most of us are not aware of.
Back in 2002, Sally McKenzie, a long time friend of the actor, filmed a documentary about Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Arts’ acting class of 1977, which Gibson attended. In the said documentary, Gibson is reportedly to have admitted that he has been suffering from manic depression, and said “I had really good highs but some really low lows.”
Furthermore, reports show that the actors condition had somewhat surfaced back when he was arrested for DUI.
We admit that this piece of news is not what anyone should call “newsworthy” but at least we know a little bit more about Mel Gibson, and it’s always nice to have an opportunity to delve into a person’s point of view. It might have been a case of “Screw the Jews, I’m sad…” but still, it may not have been entirely his fault.
