There’s nothing more couch potatoes love than turning their favorite tv show into a movie. It’s like the heavens agree to their slobbery prowess and with news of the 80’s popular police drama 21 Jumpstreet is another movie that fatties will look out for.
The series responsible for Johnny Depp’s fame is said to be turned into a comedy flick which Jonah Hill is assigned to pen and possibly star. It’s pretty shocking news as we’ve never seen even a single haiku written by the bulbous comedian, his roles in Superbad, Accepted and Forgetting Sarah Marshall might not be enough justification to prove his writing abilities. What is up with everybody who’s associated with Judd Apatow suddenly getting writing and directing gigs? It’s like the comedy mafia of Hollywood: If you ain’t funny like Judd Apatow, you ain’t getting his blessing.
News about who might play the leads are still to look out for. I’m not sure if 21 Jumpstreet fans will be thrilled to see the gang of Anchorman and knocked-up play the kick-ass cops in the show. One thing’s for sure, we’ll probably see a curly fat policeman in there somehow.
