The works involving the poorly anticipated sequel of the cult thriller is so unexciting it doesn’t even come close to semi-interesting. Although the first one with the Gyllenhaal siblings and Jena Malone is awesome, I’m not too keen on this one. Probably because it doesn’t have any connections with the first one aside from Davey Chase still playing the role of Samantha Darko, Donnie’s little sister which this sequel will focus on. None from the original cast agreed to do it for the second time around.

The film will be called S. Darko, and the U.K company Velvet Octopus is fishing for the rights in Cannes right now. As to how these British rip-offs got their hands on the Donnie Darko franchise is a mystery to me. I’m feeling the exact same gut cringe when I heard about Blair Witch 2: The Book Of Shadows. A total Halloween flop any scaredy cat would find boring.
