Now we don’t have to wait for a clear sky or work for NASA to see the splendors that our universe could offer. With the launch of Microsoft’s Worldwide Telescope, users can view, pan, or zoom in on different heavenly bodies with the simple click of mouse.
The ability to search beyond the skies will come courtesy of a new software and Microsoft’s Web 2.0 services, taking advantage of the new Visual Experience Engine.
Users can also choose between a variety of telescopes including the Hubble, Chandra X-Ray Observatory Center, Spitzer Space Telescope, and others. In the future the list may also include telescopes that are stationed at the moon, ones NASA are currently developing.
Time travel is also possible. Users can travel back and forth between the past, present, and future by seeing the changing locations of planets. There is also an option to peer through an X-Ray vision of the great beyond, revealing radiation clouds, or supernovas.
