Now we can all look like wanna-be John Petruccis, or Darrell Dimebags while outside the comfort of our homes. Coming this June 22 is Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS.
Packaged with one of the most innovative add-ons for the DS, the set will include the game, and a peripheral called a “guitar grip” which turns your DS into a rockin’ guitar-like controller. The fret board buttons fit into the GBA slot of your DS while you use a “pick” to strum on the touch pad. It changes pictures depending on the guitar of your choice. It looks like Gibson is still the sponsor.
Aside from the standard package, which will retail for $49.99, Guitar Hero: On Tour will also be bundled together with the DS hardware though no price has yet been revealed.
No definite song list has been released, but reports have suggested there will be over 20 tracks available. The game’s developer Vicarious Visions CEO Karthik Bala are trying to dispel any skepticism regarding the quality of sound for the DS. He says, “We’ve done customnote tracking for all the songs and over 80 percent of the songs are original master recordings.”
